Like many of you, I have been eating macaroni and cheese since I was a toddler. As a mother, I have prepared the dish more times than I can count and in as many colorful ways I could imagine always searching for creamier cream, better butter, and tastier cheese. Never did it occur to me to add chunks of meaty lobster and four cheeses (American, Jack, Cheddar and Parmesan), but that’s exactly what Executive Chef Craig Connole created for K’ya Bistro Bar and it’s so delicious, it should be illegal. To make the lobster macaroni and cheese more irresistible, you can have a filling bowl of it for only $11.
While you are at K’ya Bistro Bar, try their lobster and truffle risotto with caramelized onions and asparagus for $12, the bacon wrapped scallops served with potatoes, creamed corn, and black truffles for $12, and the grilled lamb chops with potato and brussel sprouts for $12.
I like to have a pomegranate martini at the Rooftop Bar upstairs, then have dinner at K’ya – both are located at the Casa del Camino Hotel at 1289 S Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651.
