The competition for the best tiramisu in Laguna Beach doesn’t even rank close to this restaurant’s hold-me-down, crazy-delicious tiramisu.
Zinc Café’s dreamy-creamy, chocolate-dusted mascarpone custard floats in your mouth like a heavenly paradise. The juicy rum ladyfingers are just right – not too dry, not too wet.
Zinc Café’s tiramisu is served with freshly whipped cream on the side. I have no idea how they whip their airy cream to such feathery consistency, but they do it consistently. The servings are generous, which is either good or bad depending on your perspective.
If you can resist the temptation to plunge into it, wait a good 5 minutes to take a bite. Zinc Café’s tiramisu tastes a bit better when the chill dissipates.
I gained 10 pounds taste-testing tiramisu in Laguna Beach, so I am confident no one in town does a better job of making this decadent course more decadent. The last time I was there, I ordered tiramisu as my appetizer.
At just $6.25 for a tiramisu serving, you cannot find a better place to lick your dessert plate. I like the dinner service, as well. They never rush me or interrupt my conversations.
