LAGUNA BEACH, California, July 21, 2014 – The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce
is hosting a Breakfast Workshop to hear from a legal expert about “Labor Law for Small
Business” from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on July 31, 2014 at the Laguna Beach Boys and Girls
Club (1085 Laguna Canyon Road).
Come learn the ABC’s and 123′s of Labor Law from Laguna Beach Attorney Dawn
Knepper, of Ogletree/Deakins. The workshop is designed for front line supervisors and
managers who are the people who observe and respond to employee concerns and
complaints on a daily basis. They are the front line people who can either create or
defeat liability. The workshop will provide takeaways that you can share with these
critical supervisors and managers, to help them spot and address wage and hour,
accommodation, and discrimination, harassment, retaliation issues. Ms. Knepper will
also discuss best practices in employee discipline and management.
Dawn advises and defends clients in federal and state employment related lawsuits and
agency claims, including actions alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation and
wrongful termination. Her experience includes successfully defending employers in both
jury and bench trials and in arbitration proceedings.
